Turkish Kitchen

If you're walking down High Street in Swansea and catch a whiff of charcoal-grilled meat or fresh-baked Turkish bread, chances are you're near Turkish Kitchen-a lively spot that's become a local go-to for bold flavors, warm hospitality, and a real taste of Anatolia in the heart of the UK. Located at 21 High St, Swansea SA1 1LF, this place doesn’t just serve food-it serves experience.

From the moment you walk through their wheelchair-accessible entrance, you're greeted with aromas that feel like a culinary passport to Istanbul. Whether you're popping in for a quick lunch, a cozy solo dinner, or meeting friends for a feast, Turkish Kitchen knows how to deliver. The ambiance strikes a balance between casual and inviting, with outdoor seating for those who love a bit of fresh air with their Baklava.

And speaking of Baklava-don’t even think about leaving without trying it. Their dessert game is strong, and you’ll find that the sweet, flaky pastry here pairs perfectly with a cup of traditional Turkish Tea or strong, aromatic Turkish Coffee.

The menu reads like a greatest hits album of Turkish cuisine. If you’re into grilled meats, start with a Mixed Shish or go big with the Mixed Grill Platter for Two-ideal for sharing (or not, we won’t judge). The meats are seasoned just right, flame-grilled to lock in flavor, and served with freshly baked Turkish Bread that’s complimentary but feels like a gift.

For something a little different, try the Yogurtlu Chicken Shish, where the tender grilled chicken is laid over a bed of bread and smothered in yogurt and tomato sauce. It’s creamy, tangy, and deeply satisfying. Or if you're in the mood for seafood, the Seafood Casserole is rich, comforting, and packed with flavor.

Looking for variety? Their Meze selection offers an array of small plates, from Hummus Cold Starter to fresh salads and grilled veggies. Perfect for vegetarians or anyone craving lighter bites. There's even a Sharing Platter for 2, which makes decision-making easy while still letting you taste a bit of everything.

The drink offerings deserve a shoutout too. Turkish Kitchen goes beyond the basics, serving not only coffee and tea, but also cocktails, wine, beer, and even happy-hour drinks. Whether you’re after something refreshing like fresh juice, or prefer something a little stronger to pair with your kebab, there’s something for everyone. Oh, and yes-they serve halal food, making it a great choice for diverse dietary needs.

This spot is popular for both lunch and dinner, and if you’re dining solo, no worries. The service is friendly, attentive, and never makes you feel rushed. It's also a solid option for those hunting for late-night food-you won’t be left hungry after hours.

Other standout dishes worth mentioning include the Adana Kebab Wrap, juicy Lamb Chops, and Moussaka that’s layered just right. And if you’re in the mood for something on the healthier side, they offer organic dishes, salad bar options, and vegetarian-friendly meals. You can go hearty or healthy-either way, you’re eating well.

Service-wise, Turkish Kitchen offers dine-in, takeaway, and delivery, making it super convenient whether you want to sit down and enjoy or eat at home. Their attention to accessibility also stands out, with features like wheelchair-accessible toilets and seating.

In a city packed with dining options, Turkish Kitchen sets itself apart by staying true to its roots while offering a menu that adapts to the modern diner. It’s flavorful, fast when it needs to be, and always satisfying-like a bite of Istanbul, served right in Swansea.

I came here for a celebration with friends. As we entered the staff were welcoming and friendly, we were quickly provided a table. We were given ample time to browse the menu for food and drinks. The server who took our order was patient and knowledgeable when some of my friends asked what certain items on the menu were or what they contained. Our drinks arrived quickly and there was a short wait for our food to arrive. my order was well presented and looked delicious. However, it was not all that hot and my fries went cold very quickly. The store was clean, tidy and beautifully decorated, giving off a very warm welcoming atmosphere. We all paid separately and the staff were again friendly and wished us well as we were leaving.

The chicken wings were deliciously marinated and cooked to a crispy surface. I believe they were one of the best chicken wings I’ve had in Turkish restaurants in the UK. The dessert, accompanied by Turkish tea, was also great.

On the pricier side compared to other Turkish restaurants I’ve been to but the food was grilled and seasoned well. The platter for two could easily feed 3-4 people. The service could be improved upon a little; they seemed to make one poor guy run around and do everything.

Discovered this little gem quite by accident. Very high quality food and very neat and tidy. You can detect the pride in the place. I also loved the lighting. Not overpriced and plenty of extras gratuit.

I've been here a number of times. Every time I've been the service has always been top notch, the staff have always been friendly and enthusiastic The food is a full treat. If you order platters you get the cold starts with hummus and all the works. Every table always gets some freshly baked bread that tastes amazing The platters are worth the price when sharing with people and plenty of food to go around. Each food is beautifully presented, seasoned and cooked. Needless to say it tastes great too Afterwards the staff have always asked if we wanted complimentary Turkish tea which is what's needed after a hearty meal. Would always recommend
